Professor Julie Cruiskhank (University of British Columbia)

Prof. Cruikshank is a distinguished specialist in the exploration of narrative and oral history, who has linked oral history with environmental anthropology. For her research she has collaborated with indigenious peoples of Canada, Alaskan and Siberia.

Professor Sirkka Heinonen (University of Turku)

Prof. Heinonen is the director of the Helsinki office of the Finland Futures REsearch Centre, and she has specialized in the future of technology, sustainable development and communities. Since 2005 she has been a member of the Club of Rome.

Professor Harriet Ritvo (Massachusetts Institute of Technology MIT)

Prof. Ritvo is an eminent, award-winning historian, who has written several books and many scientific articles on the relationship between human societies and animals. Her wide ranging topics include human relations with wild as well as tame animals. She has also made major contributions in the methodology of human-animal studies.

Docent, dr. Otso Suominen (University of Turku)

Dr. Suominen is animal ecologist and the director of the Kevo Subarctic Research Institute in the northernmost Filnad. He is specialized in the study of cervids as modifiers of boreal forest communities.

Professor Sverker Sörlin (KHT Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm)

Prof. Sörlin is an esteemed environmental historian. He also specialises on the history of ideas, the history of environmental policy and the history of the arctic.
